Looking outside my kitchen window is very depressing right now. All around is grey, and foggy and cold. I wish I could change everything with my rainbow magic wand...
But since I'm a grown up I now I don't own a rainbow magic wand. But since I'm a grown up I know I can easily  brighten up and jazz up all the grey around simply wear a pair of shoes.
Are they magic? Someone says they are for sure.

One of the things I love the most about blogging is being in touch with people living across the ocean with a completely different prospective about life in general and fashion in particular.
It's fun to me seing post of different outfits from different part of the world. While I'm posting an outfit showing my new coat to face the Italian winter (which is not as warm as they tell around) I see girls posting outfits of their new sandals!
So I thought that it could be very interesting knowing some bloggers better.
The first one I'm really glad to introduce on style you.styleme.Stylish! is Mel from Modanista Junkie. What attracted me at first reading her blog was the freshness she uses in writing about fashion. Her blog is easy, funny but fancy at the same time and reading what she wrote made come to the conclusion that after all a  blog really reflects the personality and the taste of the blogger herself.
Enjoy your reading...

1. where your passion for style came from?

Ever since I was a little girl I used to love getting all dolled up. I would not be caught outside without being fully dressed head to toe. I would always wear hair bows to match my outfits. I remember in high school always saying that I would someday move to New York and work in the fashion industry. Well the New York part never happened, but working in the fashion industry did, and it just so happens to be in Los Angeles, CA. Since I'm too poor for Couture, I figure why not try to make some of the things I so want, but can't afford. And that's where my love for DIYs came from.

 2. why did you decide to write a blog about it?

I decided to start a blog because I'm obsessed with all things fashion and love to get crafty so wanted to express and show my style through a blog.

3. how would you describe your style?
I would have to say my style is a mix between comfy and festive chic!! I choose simple over anything, BUT I do love to get all fancy and dressed up occasionally.

 4. which are the items that can't be missing in your closet?

Shoes, shoes, and shoes! I think accessories and shoes are what make the outfit that more special. I don't know what fashion would be like without them.

 5. What is "en vogue" in california?

I'm seeing a huge trend in the classic chic, and bohemian hipster -like style. Very free-spirited type of style I must say is pretty big at the moment. I'm noticing a huge mixture of studs, feathers, sequins, nude colors and water colors that are totally in style and very popular here.

6. what do you like the most in the world of fashion?
What I love most about the world of fashion is that it is forever changing, and I appreciate how every individual expresses their personalities through fashion. It's art and I love it!

 7. what do you hate the most in the world of fashion?

I hate REAL FUR! I just don't believe in killing animals for fashion. It disgusts me, and am so against it. I prefer FAUX FUR.

8. who is your style icon ?
It would have to be Nicole Richie for a few reasons: Nicole Richie has made a huge transformation in her life, and I admire that. Her fashion lines of apparel, shoes, and accessories have been an inspiration to what I hope to one day accomplish.

9. if you could eliminate an article of clothing for ever, what it would be?
Well it would obviously have to be Real fur. Another item would have to be the baby heel - I mean what's the point of it anyway?!

10. which are your favourites stylists and why
I absolutely love Beth Jones' style. I admire how she puts such fabulous outfits together. She's just fabulous and amazing!!

I have decided to add an aspect on my blog, that is the "how to" section. I think we all girls have some tips and little secrets about the way we do some practical things.
The first how to I'm going to write about is:

(I have learnt this "how to" from Michelle Phan, so I give her all the credits. I have tried it and it works perfectly)

step 1. in a plate put some dish soap (it is the best grease remover) and olive oil (it's the best mostourizer). I usually add also some hand sanitizer (it kills all the germs but it's also delicate because is made for the skin)

step 2. with the brush you want to clean stir the mixture up and soak the brush in it

step 3.scrub the brush against your hand several time, until you see the mixture becoming again of the original colour (soak the brush in the mixture several times if necessary)

step 4. wash very carefully the brush with warm water in order that no trace of
soap is left among the bristles. Now the brush is clean

step 5. It's very important also the drying phase, because a brush is also made of glue so the brush must get dried in a way that the water doesn't strain inside.

my cat Socks is keeping an eye on them

if you have the brushes' tops use them while they dry so that they can easily keep  their shapes.

I hope you find this useful. I think this is much better than using specific products because they are expensive, while we all have these products in our homes. We got to save money girls!!

Finally tomorrow is the 24th of January. What? You don't know what it's going to happen? Well, Gossip girl finally restarts. I can't wait!
Even though I think gossip girl has the worst characters ever, it's despicable in every message it sends, I can't help myself to like so much.
It has all the characteristics of all those things we shouldn't do but we love doing them....

Following the Golden Globes is not just a matter of being into cinema, but also being into fashion. Punctual as every year I spent a whole afternoon checking out all the outfits, and this year I have to say all the divas should have put more effort in picking up a dress.

But one my new year's resolution is to be more positive, so let's have a look to the gorgeous looks (according to me, of course)
Jil Sander

                                            Calvin Klein Collection

(I got to say, the dress is kind of weird but she looks stunning!)

And finally an actual and spontaneous smile from Piper Perabo. Finally someone with some joie de vivre!
Joie de vivre means joy to live. The other ones seem to have more joy to leave!

A smile like that is the best accessory a woman can pick, isn't it?

                                                  Oscar de La Renta

Which are your favourites?

Not only she was in the cast of Dawson's creek, and no matter what we tell to our friends, we all watched and loved Dawson's creek (by the way I hated Joe Potter and Dawson, I was all for the bad ones: Jen and Pacey), she is now a great actress and a great woman. I like her so much because she is a young fighter and surviver.
I love her shoot for Marie Claire, she is so gorgeous and her style is the perfect incarnation of the spring to come

I will steal from her some ideas for next spring, like yellow shoes

and a chiffon dress coloured as a beautiful and delicate flower

Time it's perfect to cover our forehead with a happy-go-lucky bangs. It's perfect under a beret, or with a thick woolen scarf which covers us until our nose.

Some stylish girls made fringe very famous and fancy

and this is my personal and humble result

I'm very happy with it, especially after the global keratin treatment, which has smoothened, nourished and softened my hair.

This year's resolution is spending money more wisely. It happened at the right time the fact I just reorganized my jewels drawer and I realized how many knick-knacks I have. I don't know if it's because the age is advancing but now I really would like to have some serious and important jewels, but always with a lot of personality and style.

Some of them are vintage, some are from the height of fashion. I think they are all gorgeous and they can really embellish an outfit but most of all a bad mood.
