DANCING QUEEN

People have emailed me asking to write something about dance wear, since I spend a lot of time doing dance classes.

Alcune persone mi hanno chiesto di scrivere qualcosa riguardo l'abbigliamento da danza, visto che spendo tanto tempo facendo lezioni di danza

These are my favourite things to wear:

Knitwear roll over pants from Bloch. I always prefer something made of  wool during warming ups: they are so soft and they keep the muscles so warm (The picture is taken from

Pantaloni di lana da arrotolare (Bloch). Mi piace sempre indossare qualcosa di lana durante il riscaldamento. Sono morbidissimi e tengono i muscoli caldi (Questa foto è presa dal sito Bloch)

The thing I use the most is the sudarella (Italian word which means "that makes
sweating"). I put it on cotton stockings, or leggings, and I like it so much both with just the body or with a huge t-shirts.

Ciò che non manca mai nelle mie lezioni di danza è la sudarella. La metto sopra calze in cotone o leggings. Mi piace sia solo col body sia con magliettone enormi.

All you can see in these pictures are classical ballet dancers. The contemporary ones usually dance barefoot or with socks.

Tutte queste foto sono di danzatori classici. Quelli di contemporanea di solito danzano a piedi nudi o con i calzettoni.
















The most important thing is comfort and even more important it is to be at ease. I don't have the classical body of a dancer, as you have alreday noticed, so I need to wear something large on hips to be at ease
Dance classes are always in front of a mirror and in order to learn and to be focused on what we are doing, there is the need not to be concerned about our bottom!


La cosa più importante è il confort e ancora di più lo è il sentirsi a proprio agio. Non ho il fisico  classico da danzatore, come forse avrete notato, quindi per me è importante indossare qualcosa di largo sui fianchi per essere a mio agio.

LET'S DARE: BLACK ON LIPS

As I told on one of my previous post, for this fall I'm all for dark colour lipsticks. So why shouldn't dare a little bit more with black lipsticks?

Come ho scritto precedentemente per questo inverno ho deciso di optare per colori scuri sulle labbra. Quindi perchè non spingermi oltre e scegliere anche il nero?

The only one I managed to buy this year is the YSl one. It's a gloss, so it's easy to blend it on lips, and it gives just a shade of black. I like it but I don't want to turn into something gothic, so I padded with a napkin.

L'unico che sono riuscita a procurarmi quest'anno è quello di YSL. E' un gloss, quindi è facile sfumarlo sulle labbra e dà solo un'ombra di nero. Mi piace ma non voglio che risulti troppo gotico, quindi l'ho tamponato con un fazzoletto.

TV LOOK

But who said that everyone on tv will look gorgeous??? I think that it was impossible to look worst than I was. Pharmacist, uptight, 2 years older (although they seemed to be 20): help! Not to mention tv takes away 30 cm of height and it puts them right where I need them the most (!): on my bottom. I'm 165 cm tall, I wear and Italian 44: you do the math.

Ma chi l'ha detto che quando si va in tv si è tutti fichi???? Penso che conciarmi peggio di così era impossibile. Farmacista, rigida, 2 anni più vecchia (anche se dal look sembravano 20!): aiuto. Per non parlare del fatto che la tv toglie 30 cm di altezza e te li posiziona giusto giusto sul sedere. Sono alta 1,65, porto una 44 sui fianchi: fatevi voi il conto.

The hair are unbearable..the thing I was worried about was not keeping in mind the good acting but how I should have put my head in order not to give emphasis to them! I'm the portrait of sadness. Not to mention the jacket and the pearls brooch. Anyway besides all my complains the mission was accompished: I looked as a rigid and uptight pharmacist in her 30's.

I capelli sono inguardabili...la cosa che mi preoccupava di più non era tenere in mente un buon registro di recitazione ma il modo in cui avrei dovuto  mettere la testa in modo da non dare troppa enfasi alla mia acconciatura! Comunque lamentele a parte, la missione è stata compiuta. Sembravo una farmacista rigida e signorina Rottermeir nel pieno dei suoi 30 anni.

Anyway the tv experience was worth it and after all I enjoyed myself so much.

TOMORROW: TV

 Tomorrow I have to go to Rome to record an episode of   a tv show. The role I have to perform is of a upper class pharmacist, bon ton and snob. The costume designer asked me to bring some outits of mine for that role.

Domani devo andare a Roma per girare una puntata di uno show televisivo. Il ruolo che interpreterò è quello di una farmacista upper class, bon ton e snob. Il costumista mi ha chiesto di portare qualche outfit da proporre per il ruolo

Even though I don't like nylon  tights, on tv they are much better. Those I usually wear (covering) make legs looking like Frankestein's ones!

Always wear high heeled shoes on tv, specially if you are 165 cm tall!

I'll bring with me also a burgundy jacket. They will provide all the accessories, the hair dresser and the make up artist.

Porterò con me anche una giacca bordeaux. Loro mi forniranno di tutti gli accessori, del trucco e parrucco.

SOno molto nervosa. Spero solo di fare bene.

FIVE EASY PIECES

I don't know if it is for the age, the autumn, the will of change, but I feel to be stuck in one of those periods where opening the wardrobe it's impossible to find something nice to wear. Does it ever happen to you? Everything sucks (sorry for the word but it's the only one that can translate the feeling), it seems to wear always the wrong thing , never good for the occasion. Not to mention the big bottom staring at me in front of the mirror, the big belly so big that seems it can talk, the falling arms, and whatever else.


Non so se è l'età che avanza, l'autunno inoltrato, la voglia di cambiamento, ma mi sento impantanata in uno di quei periodacci in cui si apre l'armadio e non si sa mai cosa mettere. Vi capita mai? Tutto fa schifo (scusate la parola ma traduce esattamente la sensazione), ci si sente sempre vestite fuori luogo, mai adatte all'occasione. Per non parlare poi del culone che ci si vede davanti allo specchio, della pancia che improvvisamente ci sembra tanto grossa da parlarci, delle braccia cadenti, e chi più ne abbia più ne metta.
 
So I decided to face this unhappiness with reasoning and asking myself: what is that I don't like? Which style I'd like to represent myself? What can I do to change this moment? Still I haven't found the answers, but for now I'll keep it simple, and I'm sure I'll find them

Quindi ho deciso di affrontare questa "infelicità" con raziocinio, e domandarmi: cos'è che non mi piace? Che stile vorrei mi corrispondesse? Cosa posso fare per cambiare questo momento? Non ho ancora trovato le risposte ma per ora la farò semplice e sono sicura che le troverò. Questo è come tengo sotto controllo la situazione:

The slim black sweater: it's perfect with everything and it makes my neck looking longer

a new skirt: over the knees, with high waist. It makes my legs looking longer and my bottom looking slightly smaller. And it is new which make my mood "looking" better!

a male hat: it gives personality

Stockings: they give a new chance to an old outfit

High heeled confortable and shabby chic shoes:  when I don't like what I see in the mirror the only thing left to do is adding 10 cm to that image. At least I look taller!!

IS THERE A TIME TO SAY: NO MORE OF YOUR KISSES?

Surfing among blogs I discovered this amazing one: Kissssing. 
No need to say I completely fell for Kissssing...actually I fell for kissing many years ago. That's why I decided to write a post not about fashion, clothes, make up and so on but about kissing. But after all isn't kissing the most -a la mode thing? IT IS!!!

It never comes a time to say: "I'm so tired of your kisses, let's kiss no more". The more you kiss the more you want to kiss. The more you are kissed the more you want to be kissed. It helps in all the tangles between lovers and all the conversations between them should start and should end with a kiss.
The first kiss is something impossible to forget, and butterflies in the stomach the moment right before a first kiss are the best thing ever.
